Delicious fats combine with coffee in this super easy and awesome butter coffee recipe!
The inspiration behind my awesome butter coffee recipe is kind of obvious. Its based off of the epic and famous Bulletproof coffee. But, it has my own unique twist…specifically, my homemade flavored (or not) coffee creamer!
Equipment
So, did you know that Google requires blog posts to have a bare minimum of 350 words, but a whopping 600 is ideal? Well, here I am struggling with coming up with interesting things to say about my awesome butter coffee recipe. So how about a round of what to use with your butter coffee?
Blender
Butter coffee should be blended together in a blender. It makes it well mixed and a bit frothy. You CAN make it without a blender, but it won’t be exactly the same!
That said, let me introduce to you what I have discovered to be my favorite blender. It is the Blendtec brand blender! It can pulverize literally anything.
See my Recommendations page for a couple less expensive blender options that I recommend.
Tumbler
Since I usually make this butter coffee recipe as a quick breakfast replacement on Sunday mornings, a good and handy coffee tumbler (or travel mug) is a must.
The Simple Modern 24 ounce Voyager travel mug is my favorite. And it’s just about the perfect size for this recipe. Seaside, Aqua Aura, and Pacific Dream are my favorite colors.
Decal
Obviously not a necessity, but totally fun, is this adorable floral antler decal with monogram. I have purchased two of these decals over the past couple years for my coffee tumblers and my water bottle. I love them! You can get them via the Jen’s Vinyl Decals Etsy shop.
Notes About Butter Coffee
This recipe is intended to be a single meal’s replacement. For example, how I use it, is to replace breakfast on Sunday morning when my whole family is rushing to get out the door to make it to church on time. Since it is primarily coffee, it naturally serves well as a breakfast substitute.
But, here’s my fair warning. It should NOT be a meal replacement every single day. That is not the healthiest way to use it! Rather, it should be enjoyed as a meal replacement once, maybe twice, per week.

Hi, Donna. I’d stick to one a day maximum. If you’re further in your weight loss journey and are stalling, you might need to cut it down to a couple times a week.
