Why do you dip the cloth instead of brush on the wax?

Many reusable cling wrap tutorials nowadays have you brushing on the wax instead of dipping the cloth. However, I find that the cloth becomes more thoroughly saturated with the wax (or wax mixture) in less time/effort when you dip it, which means their stickiness works better and lasts longer.
