Cream cheese, sweetener, and flavorings blend together to create this easy and tantalizing cream cheese caramel dip to enjoy with your favorite fruits and veggies.
The first time I tasted a cream cheese caramel dip was at a baby shower I was hosting. My friend Karen had made it and provided some strawberries for dipping in it. It was SO good! Unfortunately, brown sugar was one of the main ingredients. Which, since I’m doing Trim Healthy Mama, is a big no-no. So I just had to put forth the effort to THM-ify it.
Fortunately, since her recipe only contained 3 very simple ingredients (1 package of cream cheese, 1/2 cup brown sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla), it was a relatively easy recipe to convert. However, it wasn’t without it’s trial and error.
In the first batch I made, I used 1/2 cup Just Like Sugar Brown Sweetener (plus the cream cheese and vanilla). But, alas, it came out tasting extremely bitter. The trouble sometimes with THM sweeteners is they can be bitter, especially in excess quantities.
For the next batch, I reduced the Just Like Sugar Brown Sweetener to half, added some salt to enhance the sweet, and added some molasses to boost the sweet and reduce the bitter. This resulting dip was just what I was seeking!
This dip is Fatastic (THM S) so it needs neutral veggies and fruits to go with it. Ideas include strawberries, blueberries, celery, and cucumber.

So good. I used regular swerve because I didn’t have powdered sugar alternatives also subbed maple extract in place of the Carmel… delish to dip apples in!!
